I try to exercise both sides of my brain. I have been a part of and created a few short films below. My brother Chris is a graduate from the film and digital media department at U.C. Santa Cruz. I film and direct, and he edits and produces awesome stuff! You can watch some of these below. I am always on the lookout to be part of a good project that involves any aspect of science, nature, conservation, communication, and film/photography. Contact me if you're interested in collaborating.
A promotional video for the Baruch Institute of Coastal Ecology and Forest Science. I conducted part of my research here during the 2013 and 2014 field seasons. My segment is at the beginning if you don't want to stick around for all 6 minutes.
We made this video as part of an application to the national geographic grant "expedition granted". While we did not receive the grant it was fun to put this piece together.
Footage from my first field season in 2013. This video was a pet project and was used in the classroom to engage students about all aspects of fieldwork.
This observational film, directed by Chris Roach, was featured in the Santa Cruz Film Festival in 2013. It highlights the research done by U.S. Geological Survey at the Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge, which I participated in during the 2011 and 2012 field seasons.
